TTL provided geotechnical services, construction materials testing, and special inspections for a series of plant expansions in Decatur, AL. TTL performed a geotechnical exploration for new film plant lines D-10 and D-11. Evaluation of standard soil drilling and rock coring for both projects led to selection of a drilled pier foundation system. Bearing on the underlying limestone bedrock at depths around 60 feet, the piers were able to support column loads in the range of 700 to 900 kips.
