TTL performed a geotechnical exploration for two hangars at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Construction included two new hangar structures totaling 140,000 square feet, subsurface utilities, Low Impact Development (LID) stormwater management structures and bio-retention basins, approximately 480 new parking spaces/access drives for automobile traffic, and approximately 875,000 square feet of new ramps, helipad, and taxiway area. The exploration included soil borings, soil resistivity testing, infiltration testing, radon testing, and other laboratory testing. Recommendations were given for site preparation, retaining wall design, foundation design, and pavement design for automobiles and aircraft.
