Dan Cooper, PE shares environmental updates as they pertain specifically to Jackson and Dekalb Counties, Alabama. Cooper has more than 40 years of experience helping clients make sure their projects are compliant with all environmental agencies such as the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
In July, TTL hosted a seminar focusing on Alabama Landfills: An Update on Solid Waste Regulations and Compliance Issues. The bi-annual event held in Montgomery, AL brings together experts in various fields to share to updates and changes that affect businesses and municipalities on multiple levels.

Our own Cindy House-Pearson shares updates from the regulatory world regarding the new Waters of the U.S. rule, endangered species, Nationwide Permits, mitigation and a new EPA focus for 2018. House-Pearson has almost 40 years of experience in the environmental regulations arena and is asked to present to organizations and share her consultative expertise all over the Southeast.
TTL is proud to announce we have opened an office in Birmingham, Alabama that will be led by Steve Newton, PE. Mr. Newton joined the firm in May and brings with him more than 42 years of municipal and industrial water and wastewater design experience. We anticipate his many relationships and expertise will help to foster exciting opportunities for us to work continuously with both our current Birmingham area partners and future clients throughout the Southeast. The Birmingham office joins the firm’s other locations in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Texas and is located at 2140 11th Avenue South.
TTL is pleased to introduce Peter Corley, E.I.T. as a Staff Professional in the Transportation Business Unit. Corley brings over eight years of technical expertise in construction, operations, and logistics during his service in the United States Army. Mr. Corley obtained his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York and a master’s degree in geological engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri. He is an Engineer In Training and a Six Sigma Green Belt.

TTL is pleased to announce its merger with Walker Associates in Tuscaloosa, AL. Walker Associates, Inc. is a civil engineering, surveying, planning and geographic information systems (GIS) consulting firm. The addition of Walker Associates will expand TTL’s client service lines of geotechnical engineering, analytical lab analysis, construction materials testing and environmental consulting to now include civil design.

Title V Emissions are now required to be submitted through ADEM’s AEERS. This is new for 2017 and the deadline to report is June 30.
TTL is pleased to introduce Rex Bush as its Transportation Business Unit Leader. Bush spent more than 41 years of his career with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) where he served as Assistant Chief Engineer for Pre-Construction. He will assist TTL in the growth of the Transportation sector in Georgia, Tennessee and Texas.
Mr. Bush’s credits include the completion of segments of I-65, I-359, I-459, I-759, & I-165; widening of I-65 in Birmingham, Mobile, Montgomery, and numerous routes in the State Highway System. He was also involved in the widening of I-10 in Mobile and widening of I-59 in Birmingham. Bush also served as State Project Coordinator for Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes and ThyssenKrupp.
“Rex’s expertise in transportation infrastructure will assist our clients as they work to support and anticipatetransportation needs,” said TTL President Dean McClure. “His committment and leadership will facilitate projects from inception to completion.”
